I am a drummer myself. I taught myself to play with rudiment books and YouTube and I understand where you are coming form. The Buddy Rich is a great idea. There isn’t a real set tempo to play by. Just play at what ever feels comfortable. You could play at 200 BPM or 300 BPM, what ever you think fits. I read your metronome maxes out at 248 like most do. In this case, play starting at 150 with a half-time feel.
