Trying out for soccer club?

Im gonna try out for the Baltimore Bays and Bethesda Gunners U17 soccer clubs. When they say "try outs" is it really that they cut people or is it like those try outs where you show up and as long as you half decent you play? Anybody with experience can help me out? An tips?
