If there is someone out there that could be helpful and supportive?? as i am new to all this!!?

I adopted a 4 month old labrador puppy yesterday and understandably she has been a little unsettled and perhaps this is what my have caused her to be very windy and have loose stools??...what would you suggest i do to ease this??....i have been told by a friend to give her some boiled rice and chicken, but I was a bit worried about doing this just incase it upset her further. Also I noticed this evening that she has a very mucky ear with a weepy red sore...I have just just bathed her ear with warm salty water and apply some sudo creme all of wich she was quite comfortable with , so she doesn't appear to be in pain how ever what would you suggest I do?....can I treat this at home or should I have a vet look at her? also i've purchased some one dose wormer tablets even though she isn't showing major signs of having worms, so do you think it would hurt for me to give her these?
